Description

Archival print by Angela Johal. This print’s vibrant colors and rhythmic zigzag patterns are balanced by strong verticals to draw the viewer in. There is a quieting where adjacent color walls of the box shapes converge to create an illusion of transparency. The boxes suggest a perspective that is grounding, but they simultaneously travel upwards. This lightening effect is stabilized by the pulsating horizontal diamond centers. The viewer may enjoy the visual play of combining multiple box shapes to create varied and larger geometric shapes.
